Is Our Blue Planet Drying Up? Yes, our blue planet is drying up. Scientists' reports shows within millions of years, our Earth could resemble Mars, being barren and with no water. The oceans are 'leaking' gallons of water into the earth and only a small fraction of the water are coming back out. It is believed that oceans are 'leaking' water 5 times faster than they are getting from the earth. Scientists also believe that there are huge amounts of water trapped miles below the surface, and they think that the water is near the center of the Earth. The first thing that comes into my mind is, no doubt, global warming. I think that global warming is the cause for this 'future disaster' is because due to global warming, water would evaporate at a quicker rate. When it rains, most of the water falls onto the earth, and this process is faster than when the water flows back into the ocean, therefore, the water level of oceans would eventually go down. The consequences would be the extinction of all living creatures on Earth. We need both water and oxygen to survive. If Earth drys up, we have no water to drink. And with no water, the plant cannot photosynthesize and will die. Hence, no oxygen would be produced. Once the oxygen in Earth's atmosphere is used up, we will also die due to lack of oxygen

Yes. When i read the above statement the first thing come to my mind is the shortage of water. It may not be very obverse now for people like us but when it really appear in our eyes, then we could do no more to prevent it from happening, water is limited on this planet and we just can't stop from using or wasting it. If the above statement is true, plants need water to grow, animals need water to survive. Stop drinking water for few days is enough for us to worried.
